Pichwai art, originating from Nathdwara, Rajasthan, is deeply connected to the worship of Lord Shrinathji, a form of Lord Krishna. These traditional paintings, created on cloth, depict episodes from Krishna’s life, particularly his childhood as Shrinathji. Nathdwara, known as the “Gateway to Shrinathji,” is a major pilgrimage site where this art form thrives as a living tradition, inspiring devotion and reverence.
Behold Shrinathji in his seven divine forms, each captured in exquisite detail in Pichwai paintings. These forms highlight unique aspects of Lord Krishna, from his playful childhood to his majestic divinity. The intricate details and vibrant colors in these artworks invite viewers into a realm of spiritual tranquility and divine energy, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Nathdwara and the timeless legacy of Pichwai art. Let Shrinathji’s blessings fill your heart and home with peace, prosperity, and devotion.

Bhawani Shankar Sharma
Meet Bhawani Shankar, a master artist who began his journey as a miniature artist before transitioning to Pichwai art in his early years. Initially crafting brushes from squirrel hair, he now uses synthetic ones due to bans. His first painting, sold for 2 rupees in the fifth grade, marked the start of his artistic path. He continues to create masterpieces that honor the past and captivate the present. His work includes the breathtaking Gopasthami painting, featuring Shrinath Ji surrounded by cows, and 24 swaroops that celebrate seasonal events and festivals like Janamasthami and Ekadashi.
